ONE-OF-A-KIND PATCHWORK CUSHION COVER 1
Description
Cushion cover designed, dyed and sewn in the SONMO textile studio, using different types of fabric, dyes and techniques. The embroidery of the piece is done by hand and part of the fabric is Mallorcan hemp from the 19th century. This is a unique piece.
Technique
The piece has been produced using the following techniques: monochromatic dyeing, based on total immersion of the fabric in the dye vat and botanical printing, a technique that consists of placing the plants in direct contact with the fabric to achieve a print.
Dye
Quince: Cydonia oblonga, commonly known as quince and obtained from the leaves of the trees in the Son Moragues orchard.
Seasonal flowers planted, selected and harvested, from the Son Moragues garden.
To achieve the colors that make up the piece, different proportions of dye and iron are applied.
Note: Natural dyes can be very sensitive when in contact with substances with a high pH, such as a drop of lemon or vinegar. This might cause a permanent stain. If this ever happens, we recommend you follow our motto and "embrace the stain!"
