COTTON BLANKET

Description

Blanket of generous dimensions (155 cm x 240 cm) made of top-quality hand-woven cotton gauze, resulting in a very delicate texture. It can also be used as a bedspread or throw. 

Technique

The technique used combines different processes and involves careful and intentional folding and crumpling of the cloth, before partially submerging it in the dye vat, creating a unique and original design on each piece.

Botanical dyes

Quercus Ilex or holm oak, is the source of the dye extracted from the caps of acorns harvested from the oak forests on our estate. The oak grove is the traditional forest of the Serra de Tramuntana in Mallorca, and Son Moragues is home to over 200 hectares of this Mediterranean vegetation.

Note: Natural dyes can be very sensitive when in contact with substances with a high pH, such as a drop of lemon or vinegar. This might cause a permanent stain. If this ever happens, we recommend you follow our motto and "embrace the stain!"
