DOUBLE-CLOTH COTTON TOWEL. DIP DYE
Description
Hand-woven cotton towel with high absorbent capacity. Delicate, soft and fluffy. Commonly known as Buldan, named after the Turkish town where it was originally used in the hammams. It can be used as a bath towel, a throw or a blanket.
Technique
Dip Dye or Ombré, a technique which involves partially dipping the piece in the dye bath, to create a two tone gradient with a soft line where the dye color meets the un-dyed fabric.
Dye
Indigo: Indigofera tinctoria, commonly known as indigo.
Quince: Cydonia oblonga, commonly known as quince and obtained from the leaves of the trees in the Son Moragues orchard.
Note: Natural dyes can be very sensitive when in contact with substances with a high pH, such as a drop of lemon or vinegar. This might cause a permanent stain. If this ever happens, we recommend you follow our motto and "embrace the stain!"
