The Laus Awards, presented by the Association of Art Directors and Graphic Designers of FAD (ADG-FAD), are a benchmark in the field of graphic design and visual communication. These awards recognize excellence in projects that combine aesthetics, innovation, and sustainability. They celebrate design’s ability to generate cultural and social impact, promoting values such as transparency and connection to the environment. Within this framework, we are very proud to share that in 2024, SONMO has received its second Laus Award in the packaging design category. After winning a silver medal in 2016 for the original design of the Son Moragues brand, we have once again earned this prestigious recognition, this time with a bronze medal for the new SONMO image.
This award is a recognition of our commitment to authenticity and innovation, values that are at the heart of everything we do. In collaboration with StudioRoses, we worked to create a design that reflects our essence: products made from materials sourced from our estate, Son Moragues, and the Serra de Tramuntana, an environment that not only inspires us but also connects us to our roots.
The design of our packaging, which includes olive oils, gins, textiles, and candles, was conceived to highlight the uniqueness of each product, using a flexible yet coherent visual system that adapts to all our product lines. The dotted logo, created by Rafa Roses, unifies us but allows each creation to shine on its own. Our approach is simple: to let the product take center stage, with transparency and honesty.
This second Laus Award not only celebrates the aesthetics of our designs but also our commitment to sustainability and responsible production. The use of recycled materials and artisanal techniques reinforces our philosophy of respect for the environment. Every detail has been carefully designed to tell our story: from the labels on our fresh produce to our bags, everything reinforces our values of authenticity and transparency.
We are grateful for the recognition from the Laus Awards jury, as for us, design is much more than just a visual tool; it is a way to connect with our surroundings and communicate the values of SONMO. This award encourages us to continue combining tradition, design, and sustainability in everything we do.
