Each SONMO rug is a piece woven with history, care and a strong connection to the earth. It is born in the Gregori Loom, a century-old machine built in the early twentieth century and restored after five decades of inactivity.
The soul of this rug is the wool of red Mallorcan sheep, a native breed in danger of extinction. Its fiber is particularly resistant, naturally flame-retardant and has excellent thermal properties. As a local resource, its use drastically reduces the carbon footprint and supports the conservation of a species linked to the island's rural landscape.
Each design combines traditional techniques such as herringbone and panama, with weaves in natural shades of blue, orange, yellow or gray, depending on the type of warp. The result: a robust, sober piece with character, which carries with it the pulse of the craft, the memory of a place and the value of what is made with meaning.
